EDEN PAUL - Pilates | Yoga 

The loves of my life are my family and fitness. I feel that the body that you leave better than you find it is the perfectly imperfect example of balance. My teaching focus is on progress over perfection. This brings self-care and mindset together.  

​

I have worked with people of all ages and stages, pre-natal, post-natal, healthy, healing, athletes, and the always evolving. With a whole life dedicated to fitness just ask me about the stories!

CHELSEA C - Pilates

Her passions are traveling, health and all forms of exercise. She believes that traveling, eating nutritious foods and moving your body will you keep you young at any age. She has worked many years behind the scenes in the fitness industry and has seen what  what it has become.  Because of this she has become the change she wants to see. Her goal as a teacher is to help provide a safe place to practice mind-body connection, all while strengthening and lengthening your muscles.

BROOKE B - Pilates

Her passions are family, friends and movement.  She has been certified since 2011 with BASI Pilates.

​

With a professional dance background she was  naturally drawn towards Pilates and appreciates the inclusive design for all bodies through the movements. 

 

Dance types - Jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop.

​

ELLIE Y - Pilates | Yoga

Ellie first discovered Pilates in 2016 when she was at her heaviest, depressed and in rehabilitation for a broken leg.  The practice of Pilates helped to strengthen her both physically and mentally along with a community that brought happiness.

​

She is also a survivor of breast cancer and the process to cure it, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy and 3 surgeries.  Her love of Pilates and Yoga helped keep her moving through that time.

​

She is thankful to be able to share her love of both practices with our studio and Makai community.  She is also proud to be STOTT Pilates Reformer certified.

GENESIS T - Pilates

She discovered Pilates through the experience of being a student at CSULB in Kinesiology.  Her college experience required an internship in the fitness field and that is where she met Makai / Eden.

Since her internship she has graduated CSULB with her degree in Kinesiology, completed her STOTT Pilates Certification and continues to grow in the combined knowledge of both fields.  More to come for her she is headed to PT.

​

Movement is for everyone and this expands her ability to share that experience.

PATTY J - Pilates

Patty started practicing Pilates in 2014 while living overseas.  She loved how the practice brought her balance and grace  -  especially amongst the chaos of daily life.

She sees teaching as an opportunity to bring this joy to others and show them "yes, you actually can do this".

FAITH R - Pilates

Pilates came into Faiths life when looking for a compliment to strength training.  The consistency of Pilates and what it offers her body along with the Makai community is what inspired her to become an instructor.

Client success and client connection is her focus and all through teaching her favorite thing - Pilates.

CANDICE d - Pilates

She fell in love with Pilates the first time she took a class at Makai.  The benefits of being such a great workout for anyone, and in whatever part of your physical journey.

She became a teacher through mentorship and is focused on sharing her passion with others and being part of the Makai community.

ANKITA M - Pilates

Ankita started doing Pilates when she was looking for a workout that she could enjoy and stick with! She quickly realized that Pilates was more than a workout - it was about long-term mobility, pain free living, and self-care.

 

She took the step to GROW her practice and become an instructor and share her love for Pilates.

CONSUELO B - Yoga

Her passions are travel, dancing, standup paddle boarding and health & wellness.  She practiced Mat Pilates until she found Yoga in 2011.

She appreciates what Yoga offers and introducing new people to the practice of Yoga. 

Her main goad during class is to offer a nourishing space to unwind and connect your body and mind.

LAUREL H - Yoga

Laurel believes in the power of mindfulness - loving awareness and acceptance of the present moment, whatever the present moment may offer us! 

She has been practicing Yoga for 10+ years and living in Long Beach for the past 8 building her community.

​

Serving this amazing, diverse community through the practices of Vinyasa, Yin, Meditation is her passion.

JEN W - Yoga

Jen started yoga in 2010 after a friend suggested it for back pain and breathwork. It took a few classes to get hooked. After one year of living pain-free and feeling enormous joy and energy in her life, she started practicing regularly.

 

Jen loves yoga for the transformations she has experienced in her physical, mental, and emotional health. Using yoga as a tool for stress relief and learning to breathe and flow through life’s ups and downs has been powerful. She hopes to share the same experiences with her students 

 

Jen has been teaching for 3 years. Her specialty is Slow Flow, Yin, and Meditation.

RANDI C - Yoga

Her journey started over 7 years ago as a personal practice leading her to something greater - creating a change in her.  Falling in love with Yoga led her to becoming an instructor.  

Her focus is on the importance of connecting with one's self, others and life around all.  Her goal is to educate others and spread the love of Yoga as a practice.

SUNNY D  - Yoga & Pilates

Sunny loves sharing the practices of Yoga and Pilates, to be in community with others while exploring the relationship of our body and minds.  Her goal is to create an open space for engagement of our physical and energetic selves and with one another.

FABIAN J - Yoga | Pilates

Fabian is a motivator.  Work hard, be happy and move your body.  

He teaches Yoga, Yogilates, Mat Pilates and Group Reformer.

KATHERINE H - Yoga

Practicing since 2010 - Katherine has been sharing Yoga with others since 2013.  Initially utilizing Yoga as a form of exercise via Astanga/Mysore, Power and Vinyasa styles - she found that what her body needed after sustaining a knee injury
